You are a graphic designer for an advertising agency. Your job is to make a billboard for the side of a city bus. It is to be a Public Service Announcement communicating the danger cigarette smoking. Sketch your idea in your journal.
Your ad should be 20" wide and 10" high. When you finish today, save as a jpeg and turn-into the "Art Share" folder. Ms. Tran and Ms. Smolund will determine which ad is the best and that designer will get candy and recognition at the start of class tomorrow.

The Weisman Art Museum is happy to announce that applications and scholarship applications are open for 2017 WAM Teen Architecture Workshop.
This week-long, immersive workshop offers high school students entering grades 10-12 in the fall of 2017 the opportunity to work with professional architects, engineers, and designers from the U of M at the museum. Posed as an architectural project, participants will explore, design, and build creative solutions in a professional setting. No specific design experience is necessary, just a keen interest in art, design, engineering, or architecture.

February 23rd - Your assignment for today;
1. Go to file > "new" and create a new document 12" wide and 8" high.
2. Select a color you like using the color picker; I chose Roosevelt maroon. Then, select the paint bucket tool and dump your color onto the new document.
3. Select another color for the font. I chose Roosevelt gold. Next, select a font; scripty-ones look best. Descide what letter you will use and type it in the upper, left-hand corner.
4. Then do layer > duplicate layer and using the move tool, bring your copied letter over to the right of the first letter. Go to "edit" > "transform" > "flip horizontal".
5. Turn off the "eye" on your background layer and select "Layer" > "Merge Visible". Now when you select "duplicate layer" you are copying both letters. Continue selecting "Layer" > "Duplicate Layer" until you've filled up your page.
6. Save as a "jpeg" and turn-in to the Artshare hand-in folder.
